PROTECTING METCHOSIN'S ECOLOGICAL VALUES
There are very few places like Metchosin remaining on Southern Vancouver Island. It is a rural community that embraces a variety of diverse ecosystems ranging from marine environments to Douglas-fir forests. Visitors and residents have a deep appreciation for the green/blue spaces that include ocean, lakes, streams, wetlands, wildlife and numerous trails and parks.
We need to protect this place.
Residential, commercial and industrial development is occurring on a massive scale throughout the Westshore, to the point where it is (literally) up against Metchosin’s borders.
MetchosinH2O.org is an information source for residents concerned about impacts to the land, air and water in Metchosin. The site’s aim is to equip residents with the information and connections you need to promote PREVENTION of environmental damage, ENFORCEMENT of bylaws to protect our community, and REMEDIATION of land that has been impacted by destructive activities.
MetchosinH2O members work hard to stop environmental degradation caused by flagrant disregard for municipal bylaws, ineffective bylaw enforcement, and growing pressures to develop at any cost. Join us!
